Appello dei minatori polacchi

NO AL TIRO AL BERSAGLIO SUI LAVORATORI!

NO ALL’UTILIZZO DELLE ISTITUZIONI STATALI CONTRO I MANIFESTANTI!

Il 12 febbraio la Corte ha deciso che lo sciopero di diverse migliaia di minatori della Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa (Compagnia Mineraria Jastrzębie) nel sud della Polonia è illegale. Lo stesso giorno nella città di Jastrzębie-Zdrój le mogli e i figli dei minatori hanno organizzato in supporto dei mariti e dei padri.

Il governo sta tentando tutto il possibile per sconfiggere la protesta che dura da 16 giorni. Come il mandare unità speciali di polizia mineraria che hanno provato a interrompere la protesta con estrema brutalità, senza alcuna giustificazione, usando pistole a canna liscia, cannoni ad acqua e gas lacrimogeni. Più di 20 minatori sono stati feriti, alcuni dei quali gravemente. Nel frattempo i giudici portano avanti procedimenti contro gli organizzatori della protesta, minacciandoli di possibili conseguenze finanziarie per i soldi che la compagnia ha perso a causa della loro protesta. Fra di loro vi è Krzysztof Łabądź, sindacalista, uno dei leader dello sciopero nella miniera di carbone Budryk 7 anni fa, fatto ripetutamente oggetto di discriminazione a causa del suo lavoro.

I minatori in sciopero domandano le dimissioni del presidente della compagnia Jarosław Zagórski, la cui gestione ha portato al collasso. Il governo, nonostante detenga più della metà delle azioni della compagnia, non intende farlo dimettere. I minatori e le loro famiglie sono determinati. Stanno difendendo i loro posti di lavoro, ma anche il diritto di tutti i lavoratori polacchi a protestare.

Facciamo appello ai sindacati, alle organizzazioni della società civile di tutta Europa di supportare la nostra lotta e di mandarci lettere di supporto. Solo la solidarietà internazionale, come nel caso della Grecia, può rompere i dettami dei governanti neoliberisti. Solo insieme possiamo fronteggiare la loro offensiva antisociale in Europa.

Polish miners appeal:
No for shooting to the workers!
No for using state institutions against protesters!

On February 12 the court decided that the strike of several thousand of miners from Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa (Jastrzębie Mining Company) in southern Poland is illegal. On the same day in the city of Jastrzębie-Zdrój wives and children of the miners organised a demonstration in support of the husbands and fathers.

The goverment does everthing they can to break the 16-day protest. They sent special police units miners which tried to break the protest with extreme brutality, without any justification, using smoothbore guns, water cannons and tear gas. More than 20 miners have been injured, some of them hard. At the same time prosecutors conduct proceedings against the organizers of the protest, threatening their with financial consequences for the money the company lost because of the protest. Among them
is Krzysztof Łabądź, a trade unionist, repeatedly victimized for his work, one of the leaders of the strike in the coal mine “Budryk” 7 years ago.

The striking miners are demanding the dismissal of the president of the company Jarosław Zagórski, whose rule led to the collapse. The government, despite the fact that holds more than half the shares in the company, does not intend to resign. Miners and their families are determined. They are defending their jobs, but also the right of all Polish workers to protest.

We appeal to the trade unions, civil society organizations from across Europe to support our fight and to send letters of support. Only international solidarity, as in the case of Greece, can break the dictates of the ruling neo-liberals. Only together can we face up to their antisocial offensive in Europe.
