La Grecia ha ragioni forti e solide per non pagare il debito

Maite Mola si è congratulata con la Commissione greca che si sta occupando della questione del debito, per il lavoro svolto, perché ha aperto in qualche modo una nuova strada in Europa.

In Grecia ci sono molti giorni “X” e giovedi 18 giugno è stato uno di questi. La Commissione per la verità sul debito greco ha infatti presentato i primi risultati. Lo ha fatto in una sala del Parlamento greco e la sua presidentessa, Konstantopoulou Zo,e ha chiuso la sessione dichiarando che il debito che “sottomette il popolo greco” è “illegale, illegittimo, odioso e insostenibile”.

L’importante, secondo la presidentessa del Parlamento e questa Commissione per la verità è che “ora abbiamo alcuni argomenti per dimostrare che questo debito è illegale e per giustificare il mancato pagamento”.

La vice presidente del Partito della Sinistra Europea (EL), Maite Mola, invitata da Konstantopoulou, ha preso la parola per congratularsi per il lavoro fatto”, perché questa Commissione ha aperto una nuova strada. Portogallo, Spagna, Italia e altri paesi sono in attesa del risultato, anche perchè ci rispecchiamo in quello che sarà”. Ha ricordato che fino ad ora ci sono stati audit sul debito in America Latina e anche in Islanda, ma che erano casi diversi. Questo è dunque il primo audit fatto in Europa. “Dobbiamo conoscere la verità di ciò che i neoiliberisti, e il loro braccio armato della troika, hanno fatto per distruggere i nostri paesi e farci sprofondare in questa terribile crisi umanitaria. Ora abbiamo l’opportunità di conoscere ciò che accade in altri paesi come la Spagna grazie al governo greco e alla Commissione istituita ad hoc. E non ci saranno sorprese. Sarà lo stesso risultato perché la Troika agisce nello stesso modo in tutti i paesi”.

Marisa Matias, altro vice presidente EL ed europarlamentare portoghese, intervenendo in video conferenza, ha promesso di diffondere l’iniziativa e lanciare un appello alle istituzioni europee, per analizzare i risultati e trovare soluzioni senza mettere ulteriori pressioni al popolo greco. “Ci sarà almeno un paese in cui i conti saranno trasparenti e che sarà da esempio per gli altri”.

Matias, come ha fatto anche Renato Soeiro, economista del Bloco Esquerda e membro del comitato esecutivo della Sinistra Europea, ha riferito che il debito è usato come una scusa per attuare le politiche di austerità”. Soeiro ha detto, parlando in qualità di ospite, che il problema dei negoziati è politico, non economico e che stanno cercando di soffocare la Grecia.

Konstantopoulou ha riferito che la Grecia è stata la vittima prescelta da Fondo Monetario Internazionale, Banca centrale europea e dalla Commissione europea, al fine di convertire il debito privato in un attacco sul debito pubblico. Ha spiegato che le tre suddette istituzioni hanno violato i diritti umani e il diritto internazionale, oltre ai principi fondanti dell’Unione Europea, basati sulla prosperità dei popoli. Ha aggiunto che la democrazia è una questione che riguarda tutti. “La democrazia viene prima di tutto, e deve essere nelle mani dei popoli e dei governi e non dei centri finanziari”.

Questo è stato il risultato dei primi mesi di lavoro, alla ricerca della verità, la ricerca e la contabilità di come è stata gestita l’intera questione, di come è stato gonfiato il debito e di chi ne ha beneficiato.

Anche se il lavoro di ricerca proseguirà nei prossimi mesi, il governo ha già ora basi solide e forti per dichiarare l’invalidità degli argomenti dell’accordo, e per sospendere dunque il pagamento del debito. Queste decisioni spettano al governo, come ha precisato Eric Toussaint, direttore della Commissione sul debito.

Tutti i partecipanti hanno sottolineato che giovedi 18 giugno è stata una giornata storica in Grecia e in Europa. Il governo Syriza ha espresso in Parlamento quello che la gente ha chiesto in piazza Syntagma. E’ stato il giorno in cui La voce e le richieste del popolo greco che è sceso per le strade sono state rappresentate dal governo.

Il giorno prima della riunione dell’Eurogruppo e della presentazione di tali conclusioni preliminari sul debito, i greci si sono nuovamente riuniti di fronte al parlamento per sostenere il loro governo nel confronto con le istituzioni europee. Il popolo greco vuole la fine dell’austerità, e gli striscioni in piazza, scritti in greco, inglese e spagnolo, dicevano proprio questo: “Chance Europa”, “No pasaran”, “Vinceremo”.

Greece has already solid and forceful arguments for not paying the debt

Maite Mola congratulated the work of the Greek Truth Commission, that investigates the debt, because it has opened the path in Europe

In Greece there are many “D”days and Thursday, June 18, was one of them. The Truth Commission on Greek debt presented its initial findings. It did it in a meeting room of the Greek Parliament and was its president Konstantopoulou Zoe who closed the session declaring that the debt which “subjugates the Greek people” is “illegal, illegitimate, odious and unsustainable”.

The important thing, according to the president of the Parliament and this Truth Commission is that “now we have some arguments to prove that this debt is illegal and to justify the not payment”.

The vice president of Party of the European Left (EL), Maite Mola, invited by Konstantopoulou, took the floor to congratulate the work done “because this Commission has opened the way. In Portugal, Spain, Italy and others countries are waiting for the result, too because we see ourselves mirrored in that”. She recalled that until now audits of debt in Latin America have been conducted and also in Iceland, but they were different cases. This is the first audit done in Europe. “We have to know the truth of what the neoiliberalis , and its armed wing the Troika, have done to destroy our countries and let us sink in this terrible humanitarian crisis. We now have the opportunity to know what happens in other countries like Spain thanks to the Greek government and this Commission. And there will be no surprises. It will be the same result because the Troika does the same in all countries”.

Marisa Matias, another EL vice president and Portuguese MEP, speaking on video promised to spread the initiative and call the institutions to see the results and find solutions without putting pressuret on the Greek people. “At least, there will be a country where accounts will be transparent and be an example to others.”

Matias, as did Renato Soeiro, Bloco Esquerda economist and member of the EL executive board, reported that the debt is used as an excuse to implement austerity policies “. Soeiro said, speaking as a guest, that the problem of negotiations is political, not economic and those are trying to choke Greece.

Konstantopoulou reported that Greece has been the planned victime by FMI, the Central Bank and the European Commission in order to convert private debt into public debt attack. He explained that they have violated human rights and international law, in addition to the founding principles of the European Union, based on the prosperity of peoples. She added that democracy is a matter for all. “Democracy is above all, and must be in the hands of the peoples and governments and not the financial centers.

This has been the result of the first months of work, looking for the truth, researching and accounting of how this question has been made, how was inflated and who benefited was generated.

Although the research work will continue over the coming months and the government now has solid and strong bases to declare the invalidity of the agreement arguments, and to suspend payment of the debt. These decisions rest with the government, as clarified Eric Toussaint, the Commission director.

All participants emphasized that Thursday, June 18 was a historic day in Greece and in Europe. The Syriza government said in the Parliament what people asked in Syntagma Square. The voice and the claims of the Greek people put into streets, have been reprsented on Thursday by the government.

The day before of the Eurogroup meeting and the presentation of these preliminary conclusions on the debt, the Greeks returned to gather outside the parliament the support to their government from the European institutions. They are advocating an end to austerity, with banners in Greek, English and Spanish that read “Chance Europe”, “No pasaran”, “Venceremos”.
