Ferrero domani al confine con Kobane: “Solidarietà al popolo curdo che resiste”

Paolo Ferrero, segretario nazionale di Rifondazione Comunista, partirà domani, lunedì 27 ottobre, per raggiungere Suruç, città al confine con Kobane, con una delegazione della Sinistra Europea per incontrare la popolazione, i profughi e le autorità curde, in preparazione del 1 novembre, Giornata internazionale di solidarietà col popolo curdo. La missione della delegazione, composta da diversi deputati e leader dei partiti membri della Sinistra Europea, terminerà il 30 ottobre.

Ferrero dichiara: “Vogliamo portare la nostra solidarietà al popolo curdo di Kobane, popolo curdo che resiste non solo all’Isis ma che da anni subisce nel silenzio più assordante i soprusi, la repressione le violazioni dei diritti da parte dei fascisti e del governo di Erdogan. Incontreremo rappresentanti del popolo curdo e delle guerrigliere e dei guerriglieri costretti a combattere loro malgrado, perché aspirano solo a vivere in pace, nella coesistenza pacifica, nella giustizia e nella libertà”.

A delegation of the EL will travel tomorrow to Turkish Kurdistan on the border with Kobane

A delegation of the Party of the European Left (EL)  will go out tomorrow October 27^th towards Diyarbakır (Turkish Kurdistan) to meet the Kurdish population who is being attacked by the Islamic State and has been able to crossed the border and arrive to the Turkish villages controlled by the Kurds of the BDP and the HDP, who received them.

The delegation, composed of several Deputies and leaders of member parties of the EL, will be on the ground from 27 to 30 October. The 29^th, the President of EL Pierre Laurent who will be visiting the area with a delegation of the PCF will join the EL group to continue the work together

The purpose of the visit is to know the reality on the ground, visit the refugee camps, talk directly to the affected population and meet with the representatives of local authorities and the political and social groups in the area.

The EL will continue to promote peace and political solution for the region and supports the courageous work of Kurdish local authorities implementing solidarity policies with very few resources.

The visit has been organized on the eve of a global mobilization of solidarity with the people of Kobane, and against and the Islamic State that will be held on November 1.
